Privacy notice
This notice explains how Taelo Limited (“Taelo”, “we”) handles personal data when we contact businesses about our customers’ products and services, and — where we obtained your details from a public source rather than from you directly — where that data came from (Article 14 GDPR). It is written in plain language on purpose.
Who is responsible
Taelo Limited is the controller for the processing described here. You can reach us at hello@taelo.net for any question about your data or to exercise the rights below.
What data we process
For business outreach we process professional, business-context contact details only: your name, your professional role, your business email address and/or phone number, and the company you work for. We do not seek out or store private-life data (such as private addresses or dates of birth).
Where we obtain it (Article 14(2)(f))
When we did not receive your details directly from you, we obtained them from one of the following sources — the applicable one is named in the first email we send you:
- Public commercial registers — your company’s entry in an official register such as the German Handelsregister (company name, legal representatives, registered address).
- Company websites — the legal notice (Impressum) and contact pages published on your company’s own website.
- Publicly available business news and announcements — company news, funding, or hiring signals your company has made public.
- Public business directories — listings your company has published or been listed in.
- Public job postings — vacancies your company has advertised publicly.
- Commercial providers of business contact data — specialist services that compile business-to-business contact details and license them to companies like us. We currently use Apollo.io. Where a provider supplied your details, you can ask us which one, and we will tell you.
Why we process it, and the legal basis
We process this data to reach out about products and services relevant to your company’s work (business-to-business outreach). The legal basis is our and our customers’ legitimate interests in direct B2B communication (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time — see below — and we weigh that interest against your rights and freedoms.
How to opt out or object
Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Using it stops all outreach to your address and adds you to our suppression list, so you are not contacted again — and, importantly, your address is not collected into our data set again. You can also object or ask us to erase your data at any time by emailing hello@taelo.net.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you, and know its source;
- have inaccurate data corrected, or incomplete data completed;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to our processing — including objecting to direct marketing at any time;
- receive your data in a portable format; and
- lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these, email hello@taelo.net. We respond within the statutory time limits.
How long we keep it
We keep business contact data only as long as it is useful for outreach and permitted by law. If you unsubscribe or object, we stop contacting you and retain the minimum needed to honour that opt-out (so we do not re-contact or re-collect you).
Sharing & processors
We use service providers (for example, email delivery and infrastructure) that process data on our instructions under data-processing agreements. We do not sell your personal data.
